MARINE MECHANICS SCHOOLS

This growth in the marine industry has increased the demand by employers for skilled and trained mechanics. Marine technician training will provide the knowledge required to understand the operation of in-board gasoline and diesel powered engines, as well as electrical, fuel and lubrication systems. Marine mechanics repair and service the electrical mechanical and hydraulic equipment of inboard/outboard boats and other watercraft. Small boats have portable engines that are brought into the repair shopwhile bigger boats such as cabin cruisers and commercial boats, are powered by inboard diesel or gasoline engines, which are removed only for major repairs. Most repairs are performed at the docks or marinas where the boats are kept. They also work on propellers, steering systems, plumbing, fiberglass repair and other boat components.
